 In observance of a holiday, Agilent CrossLab/iLab Operations Software Support Help Desk will be closed during U.S. hours on Monday, February 16th, 2026. Molecular Quantification Core

Overview of Services

The core offers access to the following instrumentation:  

  • Biorad Digital Droplet PCR (manual droplet generators, thermocyclers, droplet readers)
    • Training by MQC staff is required before users can schedule/operate equipment (request through iLab)
    • No charge for use of the manual droplet generator/thermocycler stations
    • Droplet reading is charged $1.97 per sample and $2.35 per run/plate
    • Scheduling via iLab is required for all instruments
    • Multiple satellite locations on campus for instrumentation
  • Agilent 4150 TapeStation
    • Training by MQC staff is required before users can schedule/operate equipment (request through iLab)
    • No charge for use; users must supply reagents and consumables 
    • Scheduling time on the instrument via iLab is required
    • Can be run by a trained facility technician (upon request, please email charlotte.avanzi@colostate.edu for a quote)
  • QuantStudio 3 Real-Time PCR system
    • Training by MQC staff is required before users can schedule/operate equipment (request through iLab)
    • No charge for use
    • Scheduling via iLab is required
  • Azure Sapphire Biomolecular Imager
    • Scheduling via iLab is required 
    • You will be charged either a flat fee (major users) or a per minute fee (less frequent users)
    • Contact Carol Wilusz or John Anderson for software.
    • Performs Phosphorimaging, Chemiluminescence, RGB and NearIR Fluorescence
    • Scan western blots, gels, plates, slides/sections, phosphor screens
  • Qubit Fluorometer
    • Available on a walk-up basis
    • No charge for use
    • Can be run by a trained facility technician upon request (please email charlotte.avanzi@colostate.edu for a quote)
