Molecular Quantification Core

Overview of Services

The core offers access to the following instrumentation:  

• Biorad Droplet Digital PCR (manual droplet generators, thermocyclers, droplet readers)
  • Training by MQC staff is required before users can schedule/operate equipment (request through iLab)
    • Training fee is $121.16
  • No charge for use of the manual droplet generator/thermocycler stations
  • Droplet reading is charged $2.91 per sample and $2.35 per plate
  • Scheduling via iLab is required for all instruments
  • Multiple satellite locations on campus for instrumentation

• Agilent 4150 TapeStation
  • Training by MQC staff is required before users can schedule/operate equipment (request through iLab)
  • Users will be charged $33.83 per run 
  • Scheduling time on the instrument via iLab is required
  • Users also have the option of having their samples run by MQC staff (includes the cost of reagents and ladder)
    • Price per sample is:
      • $67.73 (DNA normal sensitivity)
      • $68.91 (DNA high sensitivity)
      • $69.37 (RNA normal sensitivity)

• QuantStudio 3 Real-Time PCR system
• Training by MQC staff is required before users can schedule/operate equipment (request through iLab)
• No charge for use
• Scheduling via iLab is required

• Azure Sapphire Biomolecular Imager
• No charge for use
• Scheduling via iLab is required

• Qubit Fluorometer
• Available on a walk-up basis
• No charge for use
